MARATHON 2020
The marathon took place because we couldn't have the annual SALE OF WORK.
It was for our 2 projects
MARY'S MEALS
and
TRAINING AND PROVIDING TEACHERS TO EDUCATE POOR WOMEN GIRLS IN INDIA
(under the guidance of the Presentation Srs)
THE SUM REALIZED WAS
€13,830.00
Ann Byrne, secretary of the Group, had the bright idea that different people should walk and get sponsorship. We've had walks and walkers all over Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and in Galway.... and more. Sponsors came from several sources including big donations to a total of €4,800 which will gain further tax benefit of about €2,000 for the charities.
Many thanks to all the walkers, the sponsors. Also special recognition of Pamela & Matt who kept our donations safe and lodged them in the bank for us.
Wonderful to think that a small group in Dublin 15 can successfully fundraise to provide several trained teachers with all the long term advantages for some of the poorest women and children in the world. Also imagine feeding and educating 500 children for a year!! Gratitude to God and to all involved.
