First Holy Communion is a very important step in your child’s faith formation.
In preparation for it they will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time before they share in the Eucharist meal.
This is a great time of development spiritually and mentally for the children. Mentally they are beginning to discover they belong to a bigger community, with their school mates and friends.
Spiritually, they receive the food they need for their Faith journey.'
Over the past 24 months we have linked with your children as they prepare for FIRST RECONCILIATION and FIRST HOLY COMMUNION. We have invited you along with your child to decide if you would like to be part of this programme of preparation for these Sacraments.
When you brought your child to the Church to be baptised you promised to commit to bring your child up in the practice of the faith. As we continue this journey, it is an important time for all involved to grow together in faith and love. Home is the heart of each child’s journey of faith and it will be important for your child if you engage with the programme of preparation.
Normally we invite you to participate in Sunday Mass as part of the preparation. The HSE guidelines have limited this. However, we encourage you to join in the Mass via the webcam. www.hartstownparish.ie at 11:00, each Sunday.
We look forward to celebrating this important time with you and your family.
